Every time I visit Atlanta in the autumn, I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorite cities. It has this easy confidence that makes you want to slow down and stay a little longer. The streets glow with fall color, the mornings start cool enough for a light jacket, and by afternoon the sun always seems to find its way through. There’s a rhythm to Atlanta that feels good, and somehow it never gets old.

Three things always stand out to me here. The first is the people, because no matter how big the city feels, the warmth is real. The second is the food, because Atlanta knows how to make a meal feel like an experience. And the third is the culture, which you can feel everywhere from the art scene to the music to the sense of pride that runs deep in every neighborhood.

Midtown brings all of that together in one place. It’s walkable, filled with great restaurants, and has an energy that feels both creative and comfortable. Loews Atlanta Midtown fits perfectly into that balance, refined yet relaxed, modern yet full of heart. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home even when you are just passing through.

The lobby sets the tone from the moment you arrive. The front desk team greets you with the kind of genuine warmth that immediately makes you feel welcome, and there is a calmness in the space that feels intentional. The design is sleek and contemporary, yet it carries a softness that makes it easy to settle in.

Modern fireplaces frame the seating areas, adding a quiet sense of comfort that feels perfect on cooler days. There is plenty of space to sit and unwind, whether you want to catch up on emails, read a book, or simply watch the flow of guests moving through the lobby. It is the kind of space that invites you to pause.

The Ashland Bar sits just off the main lobby, and it has a quiet magnetism that makes it hard to pass by. The space is modern and comfortable, framed by high stools and soft lighting that invite you to slow down. It is the perfect spot to unwind with a cocktail, share conversation, or simply take in the atmosphere of the hotel.

Stepping into my room at Loews Atlanta Midtown felt instantly relaxing. The space was generous, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully laid out with everything you could need to unwind. The king bed was unbelievably comfortable, the kind that makes you look forward to turning in early. The linens were soft and cool to the touch, creating that perfect balance of luxury and ease.

A separate seating area added a sense of space, ideal for reading, catching up on work, or enjoying a quiet coffee while taking in the view of the streets below. From my window, the city stretched out in soft autumnal shades, with trees showing off their color against the backdrop of Midtown’s skyline. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a spacious double vanity and a full walk-in shower that felt more spa than hotel. Every detail, from the lighting to the finishes, made the space feel calm, inviting, and designed entirely around comfort.

One of the biggest surprises during my stay at Loews Atlanta Midtown was the gym. It is far more than a typical hotel fitness center. The space feels like a full standalone club, spacious, modern, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Rows of treadmills and steppers line one side, while the other is dedicated to free weights, resistance machines, and strength training equipment. There is plenty of room to move, stretch, and actually enjoy your workout, which is something I rarely say when traveling.

The fitness center is part of Exhale Spa & Fitness, a beautiful wellness space that connects directly to the gym. It offers a full menu of treatments, from deep tissue and relaxation massages to customized facials and body therapies. There are also daily fitness classes including yoga, barre, and sculpt, making it easy to find a routine that suits your mood. You can move from a morning of fitness to an evening of complete relaxation, enjoying both the gym and spa within the same space.

Ashland at Loews Atlanta Midtown offers a menu that feels both sophisticated and inviting. It brings together a mix of flavors that highlight freshness and creativity, with options ranging from sushi to salads, steaks, and beautifully prepared mains. The restaurant manages to feel elegant without being formal, with soft lighting, clean lines, and a contemporary design that matches the hotel’s overall feel. The staff are professional, friendly, and clearly take pride in what they do, which adds to the whole experience.

For my meal, I started with the Yellowtail Crudo, which was light, delicate, and perfectly balanced with pickled daikon and a touch of chili. It was followed by the Sweet Tea Brined Joyce Farm Half Chicken, served crisp on the outside and tender within. The flavors were layered and comforting, paired perfectly with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Everything about the meal felt thoughtful and well-executed, from presentation to pacing. Ashland isn’t just a convenient option for hotel guests, it is a destination in its own right for anyone who appreciates good food served with care.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a real weakness for dessert. The team at Ashland clearly sensed that and brought out every option on the menu for me to try. Each one was outstanding, the kind of desserts that make you want to plan your next table reservation before you have even finished your plate.

It is hard to pick a favorite, but it came down to a close tie between the Basque cheesecake and the chocolate cake. The Basque cheesecake was baked to perfection with a golden top and a center that was creamy and smooth. The chocolate cake was rich and layered with deep flavor, soft and dense at the center with a velvety finish. Every bite was perfectly balanced and just indulgent enough to make you slow down and savor it.

To go with dessert, I ordered the Tea Time cocktail, made with Don Julio Blanco, Mizu Green Tea Shochu, apple matcha syrup, fresh lime, and egg white. It was light, slightly earthy, and the perfect match for the sweetness of the desserts. It ended the meal beautifully and felt like a true moment to linger over.

After dinner, I headed back to my room and let the night slow down. The city lights outside glowed softly through the window, and it was one of those quiet moments that make travel feel restorative. The bed at Loews Atlanta Midtown deserves special mention. It was easily one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The bedding felt cool and smooth, with that perfect softness that makes you want to sleep in the next morning.

Breakfast at Ashland was exactly what I needed to start the day in Atlanta. I went with my usual go-to, the Classic Eggs Benedict, and paired it with a perfectly made latte. The eggs were poached just right, the hollandaise was silky and rich, and the whole dish had that balance of comfort and freshness that makes it a staple for me whenever I travel.

The setting made it even better. The restaurant was filled with soft morning light, the kind that instantly makes you slow down. Service was attentive and kind without ever feeling rushed, and everything about the experience carried that calm, polished ease that Loews does so well. Breakfast set everything in motion for the day, a reminder of how effortless and enjoyable a well-done hotel experience can be.
